PARENT HANDBOOK
The Parent Handbook of Einstein’s Playground in Birmingham, AL provides a detailed narrative of the operating and business procedures governing the relationship with families. We keep updating the document bit-by-bit every year to incorporate the changes in our policies and to address parent issues that may have arisen during the year. Parents are advised to refer to the document in case they have any questions related to Einstein’s Playground.

We understand the importance of parenthood and the joys and challenges that you approach daily with your child. Here at Einstein’s Playground we believe in serving our families needs to the best of our ability and making each transition that you take along with your child a successful component of their development. Below we have provided a variety of assorted materials that you may use from infancy stage to transitioning to kindergarten. Infants
During the early stages of development parents have the joy of seeing their baby smile for the first time, discovering their hands and feet, crawling, pulling up on items by using their gross motor skills and seeing the beginning stages of Piaget?s sensorimotor stage take place including; simple reflexes, reaction phase, and coordination.
Young Toddlers
During this stage of development this is the season of ? fearlessness?! This is the age where the child finds their true personality of likes and dislikes and where their social skills develop. This is also the starter age of properly introducing the academic sector and bringing in Piaget?s pre-operational stage that continues throughout till the age of seven years old.
Older Toddlers
During this stage of development is where the child is being cultivated and has formed the foundation of academia through learning shapes, colors, numbers, patterns, and their name. During this stage is where the foundation advances through academic achievement and the advancement of self-help skills.
Pre-K
During this stage of development the child is now at the phase where preparation for kindergarten begins. With the office of school readiness the goal is to prepare the student with ? the ability to function in social setting, age appropriate communication and problem solving skills, and age appropriate physical and emotional skills? (children.alabama.gov 2017).
